Differences between Chiropractors
Most chiropractors are going to use their hands to perform chiropractic adjustments. Both of our doctors use their hands to apply gentle, specific force to restore normal joint motion and remove pressure from the nerves exiting between the bones. Dr. Matt not only uses his hands to perform spinal adjustments he also uses instruments to help him with some patients.
The ArthroStim for example, is one of the latest technologies in hand-held electronic adjusting instruments. It divides the energy of a single thrust into 12-14 smaller, rapidly successive thrusts per second, allowing us to deliver an extremely comfortable and highly effective adjustment. Although it can produce great results for any patient, individuals who may especially benefit from the ArthroStim instrument include infants and young children, people in acute pain, anyone with a high sensitivity to pain, the elderly, and those who dislike being “cracked”.
You may also see him use the activator. Sometimes referred to by patients at the "clicker." Activator Methods is the most widely used low-force technique in chiropractic. With more than 40 years of study and more than two decades of clinical research to support it, the Activator Method uses the hand-held Activator Adjusting Instrument to deliver consistent, low-force, high-speed chiropractic adjustments.
Dr. Matt has received extensive training in Activator Methods Chiropractic Technique and he has eight years of experience teaching people about chiropractic and healthy lifestyle in groups and on radio. He also speaks fluent Spanish.
These are just a few of the ways that we try to meet the needs of all our patients. If you would like more information about chiropractic or the techniques and services offered in our office feel free to call (606) 549-4811.
