Placing an Ice Pack on Your Back is Hard to Do!

DO YOU FIND IT DIFFICULT TO POSITION ICE IN YOUR LOW BACK OR MID-BACK?

I suspect that I’m not the only one who has ever been alone and found the need to put ice on my mid-back or low back. Sometimes positioning that ice on the place where it hurts can be difficult if we don’t have someone to help us, especially if we are sitting down.

Here’s the trick. Instead of wrapping it in a towel, PUT THE ICE PACK IN THE END OF A LARGE ATHLETIC SOCK and throw it over your shoulder as you hold the end of the athletic sock. Then you simply have to lean back and pull the athletic sock up until the ice pack is in the right place.

The Christopher Chiropractic ice packs that we have given out all over town are well-suited for this because they are almost a perfect fit for the average athletic sock.

We learned this trick from one of our patients. If you have good ideas like that, feel free to let us know so that we can share your ideas with others too.

(Always remember to wrap your ice pack up before placing it on your back. Never place a gel pack directly on your skin.)
